UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE BEHIND CCCG
©️UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE BEHIND CCCG What does CCCG stand for, and why this name? Cure Childhood Cancer Ghana (CCCG) was born from courage, conviction, and an unwavering belief in children. In cancer care, the word “cure” is used with caution, and more so in resource-limited settings, where too many barriers stand between a child’s diagnosis and long-term survival. Too often, outcomes are dictated not by the biology of the disease, but by where a child lives when cancer strikes. Access, affordability, expertise, and timely care become the difference between hope and heartbreak. CCCG chose the word Cure deliberately, and boldly, to challenge this injustice. Cure is our declaration that a child’s life should not be limited by geography, poverty, or circumstance. It is our refusal to accept that survival is a privilege. It is our commitment to push beyond survival alone, toward long-term survival, dignity, and a future for every child who comes to our doorstep. CCCG exists as a gateway of hope, mobilising the strength and wealth of community to give children affected by cancer a fair and fighting chance. Through collective effort, we work to remove barriers along the cancer journey, ensuring access to care, skilled hands at the bedside, strong referral pathways, and compassionate support for families when they are most vulnerable. To achieve this vision, gatekeepers must open doors, expert hands must deliver care, advocates must tell the story truthfully, and society’s generosity must stand in the gap. Volunteerism becomes a powerful asset, learning remains continuous, and accountability to the child, the family, and society, guides every step we take. This is the spirit through which CCCG was birthed. Our logo tells this story. The golden hand of community, symbolising the collective wealth, strength, and compassion of society, forms a safe haven for children, regardless of sex or background. Within this hand, children are nurtured, protected, and supported to draw from the shared well of community, securing not only their treatment, but their future. CCCG is here to break the myth that a childhood cancer diagnosis in resource-limited settings is a lost cause. With the right support, timely care, and collective responsibility, children can survive, thrive, and be cured. This is a call to society: When we give together, we heal together. When we stand with children, we secure their tomorrow. https://childhoodcancerghana.com/donations/general-donations #CCCG #CureChildhoodCancer #HopeInAction #CommunityHeals #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessOur logo tells this story.
